A Little More Of What Makes Me, Me

I usually try to focus on finances and other things like that, but I want you to know there is a person behind all of my posts.  There’s Me, KD.  I wrote a FB post the other day on my personal site, and after thinking about it a lot, I have decided I want to share it on my blog.  It’s me, it’s my own thoughts and I feel like it may give you a snippet into my life and thoughts, outside of coupons and finances.  So, here you go:

I really enjoyed our Pastor taking a moment to explain the Lord’s Prayer in more detail and making it more than just babbled words, especially this verse: “Give us this day our daily bread.”

God, our Father, wants us to depend on Him daily and stop trying to be so independent all of the time. He doesn’t want to give us a hibernation amount of food, supplies, resources, etc. so that I push Him aside until we need more again, and only turn to Him when I have a problem.

Daily, I need to pray and ask Him to take care of me, just like a father would a child. He is my Father, and daily I should, and do, need Him. Daily, I need Him to hold my hand, show me His way and guide me away from evil and temptation. Daily, I need strength and assistance to make the right decisions.

The more time I spend with God, the more at peace I am. It doesn’t mean every day is perfect, that I have no problems or worries, but that I know I will have the strength to face whatever challenges may arise. It doesn’t mean I am not weak or exempt from pain, just that I am not alone. I know in my heart that it will be OK in the end. I know that I am loved beyond measure, and that I am enough.
