Hello world!

Welcome to KD’s Korner!  I’m glad you’re here!

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope to see you around often!  On that note, I plan to post a new blog several times a week, so check back frequently for my newest money-saving or making tips, life’s funnies, random acts of kindness or whatever other offhand thoughts I, or my fans, may have for you!  Help spread the joy, fun and encouragement, please share KD’s Korner with everyone you know!

So, here I am, finally pulling the plug, er, beginning a new adventure in my life:  blogging!  Essentially, I am expanding my horizons to share all of my life’s craziness, encounters and random thoughts with you and stop driving myself (and friends) nuts—while maybe helping others!  God blessed me with all of my life’s challenges, thoughts, wisdom and experiences for something, right?!

KDWho am I, you may ask?  My name is KD, and I am currently a full-time Executive Assistant for a large multi-million dollar company with locations throughout Florida, so organization, time management and calendars rule my life.  Fun stuff, right?  Of course, I cannot help but try to make it a fun and entertaining environment among the results-driven, deadline-meeting and Type A personalities around me.  This can be a challenge at times, but I am not scared!  We have crazy days, and a lot of stressful ones, but more importantly, I get to tell my boss where to go on a daily basis!  LOL!

When I am not busy telling him what to do and when to do it, I spend most of my free time with my awesome Superman of a husband doing fun stuff, like kayaking, traveling and puzzles.  OK, OK, maybe puzzles are not the most exciting thing one can think of to do in their spare time, but it ties into my other passion:  saving money (you know, getting ahead, bettering my life, and not keeping up with the Joneses, who ARE these people anyways??).  Yeah, back to my point: puzzles, once fully completed and found to be containing all of their pieces, equal money from eBay buyers.  Cha-ching!

I collect money banks! (By the way, I collect money banks and actually use them!)

From the time I was a little KD, finances and ways to save or make money have been occupying my thoughts non-Lil' KDstop, and over the years, I have become quite the researcher on this subject.  Some things work for us, somethings do not, but may work for others, and some things are just silly.  From my family’s yard sale and thrifting ventures to our eBay stores, from couponing (or coo-penn-ing, as my husband and I refer to it) to cash rebate apps, and then there are surveys and watching videos for money; I have tried more than my share of them!  Some I am a fan of, some I am not.  Mostly I am a fan of not having to deal with people in real life every second of every day, like in real jobs.  You see, I am not a salesperson by nature, nor do I really want to interact with people in that setting on a normal basis.  So, I try to find ways to “get ahead” financially while avoiding people and schedules (remember I am already engulfed in scheduling during my daily ‘big girl’ job).   Don’t worry, I’m not stingy!  You’ll see more on these money-making and saving ideas in a lot of my blogs.

Although I say I am not a salesperson, I am, however, a social butterfly.  If there is something for me to get involved in, I am usually there!  Volunteering, traveling, board games, planning events and fundraisers, team sports, movies, music concerts, kayaking, state parks, church… the list goes on and on.  I cannot help myself, I like to stay busy and enjoy life for all it is worth.  We only live once, and by God, I am going to take advantage of that!  Is there a reason I should not participate in my own life?  I get tired of saying “why me?” in a negative way and now only say…

Why not me?  Life is mine for the taking!

Live your life
